Long-Term Disability and Retirement
My question involves insurance law for the state of: Michigan
I have and am on Long Term disability paid by my employer. I will not be returning to work. I don't have enough in my retirement to be vested and I can request my contributions because I won't be returning to school employment.
If I take my lump retirement contributions, do I have to report this to long term disability and if I get penalized, is it just for the month I recieve it or longer? I'm not sure what to do here at all and I want to be forthright.
I will be applying for ssd shortly and I have 1 1/2 years left at 2/3rds pay.
